“PTT Stamp Museum: One Building, One Museum” Seminar

In the fourth meeting of On-Site History, the Stamp Museum, which is located in one of the oldest modern buildings on Atatürk Boulevard from Ulus to Kızılay/Ankara, was visited by Mehmet Akan, an expert on the subject. Akan shared with the participants some of the huge amount of information in his book “Microhistory of the Turkish Post (1920-2015)”, which he wrote together with Timur Kuran. Afterwards, Turan Tanyer explained the history of this old bank building, which was experienced as a museum.
On-Site History is a joint event between the History Foundation Ankara and TED University Architecture and Urban Studies Graduate Program. This event is based on the narration and discussion of the knowledge of the place and/or the building on site. It aims to experience historical knowledge on site.
